Bone Marrow Donation Leave. Leave for bone marrow donation is allowed under Minn. Stat. 181.945. The statute restricts such leave to forty (40) hours, unless otherwise agreed. The District may require medical verification for such leave.

  • Blood Donation Leave Leave shall be granted to employees to donate blood at an onsite and Appointing Authority endorsed program.

  • Donor Leave An employee shall be granted the necessary leave of absence with pay for the purpose of donating bone marrow or an organ.

  • Blood Donor Leave Employees may be granted reasonable paid time off for the purpose of donating blood when participating in a City-authorized and/or sponsored blood donation drive or special need. No employee shall be eligible for overtime as a result of donating blood. All such absences shall be scheduled with the employee’s supervisor.

  • Education Leave (a) If required by the Employer, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade his or her employment qualifications.

  • Parental Leave/Adoption Leave An employee will be granted unpaid parental leave for a period up to and including thirty-five (35) weeks, upon request and verification of:

  • BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 15.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a Tangihanga (or its equivalent). The length of time off shall be at the discretion of the employer.

  • Federation Leave A leave of absence for the president and a second position of the Federation shall be granted to any employee covered by this Agreement upon application by the Federation for the purpose of the employee serving as an officer of the Federation. The District shall continue to pay such employee(s) and provide benefits, with the exception of leave benefits, but will be reimbursed by the Federation for the cost of salary and fringe benefits. Upon return from such leaves, an employee shall proceed on the salary schedule as if s/he had been employed with the District each year of the leave. The Federation agrees to consider carefully each request for release time for Federation members. Although leaves for short terms without loss of pay may be granted upon approval by the Office of the Superintendent, the Federation shall reimburse the District for the cost of salaries and fringe benefits.

  • Childrearing Leave 1. Any teacher who has acquired tenure and is expecting a child, or whose spouse is expecting a child, or who has documented plans in the immediate future to adopt or xxxxxx a child of preschool age or a preteen child with special needs or who is non-English speaking, may be granted a long-term leave without pay for child-rearing purposes up to two (2) full semesters or a reasonably requested portion thereof within the same school year.

  • Local Union Leave Upon written request, leave of absence without pay shall be granted to employees for Union business in accordance with the following provisions:
