In general, employees taking medication legally prescribed by a physician, or purchased "over-the-counter", which may impair the employee's judgment, job performance, and physical/mental capabilities, shall advise their immediate supervisors of the medication being used and the possible effects (to the employee's knowledge) of such medication. Such notice should be given prior to the employee commencing work. The City will provide the form for such purpose. When an employee so notifies his/her supervisor, the supervisor shall attempt to temporarily reassign the employee to other duties, which can be performed, if such duties are available.
