Layoff Unit. The layoff unit may be at an organizational level of the University, such as a campus, division, college/unit, school, department/unit, area, program, or other level of organization as the University deems appropriate.

When implementing a retrenchment, the College will prioritize based on the effect that reduction or elimination will have on the mission and goals of the College.

Layoff Unit. The sole 426 instance in which only one (1) employee will constitute a layoff unit is when the 427 functions that the employee performs constitute an area, program, or other level of 428 organization at FIU. If a layoff of bargaining unit members is determined to be 429 necessary, the following procedure shall be controlling. 430

Layoff Unit. For the purposes of this Article only, the layoff unit will include all permanent employees of the WFSE, and will be by office. If there is no option available within an office, an employee will be offered an option statewide after all other laid off employees have been given their office option.
