Background IPR definition

Background IPR means any Intellectual Property Rights (other than Project IPR) belonging to either party before the Commencement Date or not created in the course of or in connection with the Project;
Background IPR means any IPR controlled or owned by any party prior to the date of this Agreement or IPR generated by any of the parties independently of the Research and controlled or owned by that party or any IPR to which the party has the necessary rights for the purpose of the Research;

More Definitions of Background IPR

Background IPR means all Intellectual Property Rights excluding Foreground IPR, owned by either IWM or the Contractor prior to their accession to this Contract, as well as any Intellectual Property Rights pertaining to such information, the application for which has been filed before their accession to this Contract, and which is needed for creating the Deliverables or for using Foreground IPR in accordance with this Contract.
Background IPR means any IPRs which are owned or controlled by a Project participant on the effective date of the corresponding Project Agreement, or in respect of which ownership or control is acquired during the term of the corresponding Project agreement as a result of activities outside the framework of the Project;
