Exchange Area definition

Exchange Area means an area, defined by the Commission, for which a distinct local rate schedule is in effect.

Exchange Area means the geographic area that has been identified by a given LEC as being associated with a particular NPA-NXX code assigned to the LEC for its provision of Telephone Exchange Services. The Rate Center Area is the exclusive geographic area which the LEC has identified as the area within which it will provide Telephone Exchange Services bearing the particular NPA-NXX designation associated with the specific Rate Center Area.

• Each Exchange Area comprising the Selected MSA that is not expressly identified as an Expected Serving Area by the applicable MSA Schedule is deemed to be an Optional Serving Area.

Rate Centers will be identical for each Party until such time as MGC is permitted by an appropriate regulatory body to create its own Rate Centers within an area.
