First Tier Entity definition

First Tier Entity means any party that enters into a written arrangement, acceptable to CMS, with an MA Plan to provide administrative services or health care services for a Member. LIBERTY is a First Tier Entity for various MA Plans.

First Tier Entity has the meaning set out in 42 C.F.R. § 422.500(b) and § 423.501. First Tier Entities consist of MA Plan’s subcontractors, including Dentist, that provide administrative services or dental care services to MA Member.
