Mental or Nervous Disorder definition

Mental or Nervous Disorder means any disease or condition, regardless of whether the cause is organic, that is classified as a Mental or Nervous Disorder in the current edition of International Classification of Diseases, published by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is listed in the current edition of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, published by the American Psychiatric Association or other relevant State guideline or applicable sources.

Mental or Nervous Disorder means a neurosis, psychoneurosis, psychopathy, psychosis or mental or emotional disease or disorder of any kind.

Mental or Nervous Disorder means (1) a Mental Illness or (2) a neurosis, psychoneurosis, psychopathy, psychosis, or mental or emotional disease or disorder of any kind, regardless of whether such disease or disorder has causes or origins which are organic, physiological, traumatic or functional.

• This specifically includes, but is not limited to, any medical condition, sickness, Injury, Illness, disease, Mental Illness, or Mental or Nervous Disorder for which medical advice, diagnosis, care, or Treatment was recommended or received or for which a reasonably prudent person would have sought Treatment during the 60-day period immediately preceding the Effective Date of Coverage under this Certificate.

• For purposes of this provision, Mental Health Facility means a facility licensed in the jurisdiction in which it is located to provide care and treatment for a Mental or Nervous Disorder or Disease.
