The following provision will replace the language under Article 12.03(c) - Leave for OCHU President that existed in the Hospital’s expired collective agreement: "Upon application in writing by the Union on behalf of the employee to the Hospital, a leave of absence without pay shall be granted to such employee(s) elected to the positions of the President of the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions or the Secretary-Treasurer of the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions for period(s) of up to two (2) years.
Upon application in writing by the Union on behalf of the employee to the Health Centre, a leave of absence without pay shall be granted to such employee(s) elected to the positions of the President of the Ontario Council of Health Centre Unions or the Secretary-Treasurer of the Ontario Council of Health Centre Unions for period(s) of up to two (2) years.
It is agreed and understood that all present and future employees, after having completed one (1) month of continuous employment shall be required to permit the Health Centre to deduct initiation fees and thereafter one each month from the pay of each employee an amount equivalent to the regular monthly dues of the Union, and to remit such deductions to the Secretary/Treasurer of the Union, no later than the first day of the following month.
Deductions shall be made from each payroll period of each month and shall be forwarded to the National Secretary-Treasurer of the Union not later than the 15th day of the following month accompanied by a notice of changes to the list of names and classifications of employees from whose wages the deductions have been made.
Deductions for Union membership dues made during each month shall be forwarded to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Union not later than the 15th day of the following month accompanied by a notice of changes to the li st of names of employees from whom the deductions have been made, the amount of deduction from each employee, and the employee's position.
