More Definitions of Significant Development

Significant Development means development which: disturbs land in the Buffer; disturbs 10,000 or more square feet of land in the Critical Area; results in any disturbance, caused by use, development, or destruction of vegetation, to land in an area designated under the Critical Area Management Program as a habitat protection area; or involves an expenditure for improvements to the property equal to or greater than 50 percent of the assessed value of the property, as certified by the Department of Planning.
Significant Development means any industrial, commercial and/or multiple residential dwellings with a total ground floor area above 300m2. A detailed dust management plan is required for all works associated with land development and construction sites where all the following criteria are met:-

For the purpose of calculating a density bonus, the residential units shall be on contiguous sites that are the subject of one development application, but do not have to be based upon individual subdivision maps or parcels. The density bonus shall be permitted in geographic areas of the housing development other than the areas where the units for the lower income households are located.

  • Residential Development means lands, buildings or structures developed or to be developed for residential use;

  • Commercial Development means any development on private land that is not heavy industrial or residential. The category includes, but is not limited to: hospitals, laboratories and other medical facilities, educational institutions, recreational facilities, plant nurseries, car wash facilities, mini-malls and other business complexes, shopping malls, hotels, office buildings, public warehouses and other light industrial complexes.

  • Research and development means (1) theoretical analysis, exploration, or experimentation; or (2) the extension of investigative findings and theories of a scientific or technical nature into practical application for experimental and demonstration purposes, including the experimental production and testing of models, devices, equipment, materials, and processes. Research and development does not include the internal or external administration of radiation or radioactive material to human beings.

  • Professional development means training programs for

  • sustainable development means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

  • Significant means in reference to a net emissions increase or the potential of a source to emit any of the following pollutants, a rate of emissions that would equal or exceed any of the following rates:
