Accrued Sick Leave. (a) If at the time of retirement the employees (or, in the event of their death, their estate) have accrued sick leave that they do not use to purchase service credits from SURS, they may petition the Board to receive 80% of the monetary equivalent of the number of sick days accrued by the employee on the last day of employment.
