Accumulated Annual Leave. Any days of annual leave not used at the end of a year may be carried forward into the next year. Employees may accumulate unused annual leave and may carry over from one year to the next up to seventy-five (75) days, or six hundred (600) hours. If an employee is denied the opportunity in a calendar year to use annual leave in excess of seventy-five (75) days or six hundred (600) hours, the head of the employee's principal unit may allow the employee compensation, at the employee's regular rate of pay, those excess leave days. Accumulated annual leave in excess of the maximum permitted must be used as of July 1 of each year. *Unit members who have completed less than ten (10) years of service as an administrator or supervisor with the Harford County Public Schools may accumulate no greater than twenty-five (25) days by July 1 of each year. *Unit members who have completed more than ten (10) years of service as an administrator or supervisor with the Harford County Public Schools may accumulate no greater than thirty-four

If an employee is denied the opportunity in a calendar year to use annual leave in excess of the fifty (50) days or four hundred (400) hours by his/her appointing authority, the employee shall be permitted to cash out the excess annual leave if funding is available.

Employees subject to Article 8.1 of this agreement with less than ten years in an administrative position are entitled to this provision. Accumulated annual leave in excess of the maximum permitted must be used as of July 1 of each year. When a unit member, due to unusual circumstances, is unable to reduce accumulated annual leave to the maximum permitted by July 1, they may request to accumulate more than the maximum not to extend beyond one year from the Superintendent and/or designated representative(s). Approval is at the sole discretion of the Superintendent and/or designated representative(s).

Accumulated Annual Leave. (a) An employee may carry forward from one year to the next any unused annual leave not taken by him in previous years until by so doing he has reached a maximum of one year's entitlement.
