Accumulated Days Off. Engineer officers shall earn one day of personal leave (an “A” Day) for: (1) Each day worked (on change day prorated in relation to hours worked); (2) Each day they are required to remain on board the vessel; and (3) Each day they are assigned to the vessel while in shipyard or layup status, including weekends and holidays. (4) Negative “A” day balances will be allowed, and Engineer Officers permanently assigned to the vessel shall be paid in the event that the vessel is late to its scheduled change port due to breakdown, weather or change in schedule. 23.01 (B) Does not apply. 23.01 (C) Does not apply.
