Additional Parental Leave. 11.5.1 Upon request, a teacher may be entitled to an extended parental leave of absence without pay or School Division contributions to benefits plan for up to six (6) months beyond the maximum parental leave identified in clause 11.2. 11.5.2 The extended leave must commence immediately following a parental leave under clause 11.2. 11.5.3 Application for such leave must be made no later than three (3) months prior to the commencement of the extended portion of the parental leave. 11.5.4 Approval of this leave will be dependent on alignment with natural school breaks.
