Advances or Loans – Third Party Liability. If an employee meets with an accident under circumstances entitling the employee to recover damages from a third party, the employer, instead of paying benefits under this article, may authorize advances or loans to such employees to be paid out of the damages, if any, recovered by the employee from the third party. If no damages are recoverable, the charges will be assessed against the employee's sick leave credits.
