Common use of Allocation of Overtime Clause in Contracts

Allocation of Overtime. The Employer and the union agree that the opportunity for scheduled and unscheduled overtime, excluding callbacks, in a particular classification shall be distributed as equitably as possible in order of seniority and on a reasonably practicable basis among the employees thereof. For clarity, this means that the Employer will assign callbacks in accordance with operational requirements. For the assignment of other overtime, the Employer will include callbacks in the calculation of total overtime worked when determining the equitable distribution of overtime among the employees in the classification.
