Assessments and Curricula. 1. The Agency shall implement the following in Teaching Strategies GOLD® (TS GOLD): a. Ensure that each ECEAP child’s actual start date is entered into ELMS so record will automatically roll to TS GOLD. b. Complete the Home Language Survey on all ECEAP children prior to completing the first checkpoint, and assess the child’s English language acquisition, if indicated. c. Complete weekly lesson plans, either directly in TS GOLD or uploaded into TS GOLD, including all components of the daily routine as outlined in ECEAP Standard E-3; ensure that lessons reflect documentation of individualization for children and emergent learning opportunities. d. Enter child observations in TS GOLD regularly throughout the checkpoint seasons, including observations in the following domains of TS GOLD: Social-Emotional, Physical, Language, Cognitive, Literacy, Mathematics, and Science and Technology. e. Complete the developmental assessment (Checkpoints) in TS GOLD for each child three times per year in part day and full school day programs, four times per year in extended day programs, in the following domains and according to the following schedule: 1) Social-Emotional, Physical, Language, Cognitive, Literacy, Mathematics, and Science and Technology; 2) Fall Checkpoints are due on November 15, 2015; 3) Winter Checkpoints are due on February 28, 2016; and 4) Spring Checkpoints are due May 30, 2016. f. Require newly hired ECEAP lead teachers to take the TS GOLD reliability test within six months of their hire date. 2. The Agency shall implement The Creative Curriculum for Preschool as the foundation for curriculum planning. 3. The Agency shall also implement the required curricula Second Step and The Child Protection Unit, and strategies and tools from Building Foundations That Last, and shall ensure that all staff participate in mandatory training regarding their implementation. 4. The Agency will implement, at minimum, quarterly multi-week science studies in the classroom, using either the Early Childhood Hands-On Science (ECHOS) curriculum, The Creative Curriculum Study Starters, or teacher designed studies.
