Bereavement – Immediate Family. Bereavement leave of up to five (5) working days with pay shall be granted an employee in the event of the death of his/her: Spouse Sister Father Brother Mother Child Step-parent Step-child Father-In-Law Mother-In- Law Son-In-Law Daughter-In-Law Or A relative domiciled in the employee’s household
Bereavement – Immediate Family. When a member of an employee’s immediate family dies, the employee shall be entitled to bereavement leave with pay for a period of up to five (5) consecutive working days, one (1) of which must be the day of the funeral. Employees may request such leave days not to be consecutive and such request shall not be unreasonably denied by the Employer. If the employee is on annual leave at the time of the death, the employee will not be deducted vacation credits for the period of bereavement leave.
Bereavement – Immediate Family. In case of death in the immediate family the professional employee, upon notification of the Building Principal, shall be entitled to five (5) days leave with pay.
Bereavement – Immediate Family. When a member of an employee’s Immediate Family dies, the employee shall be entitled to Bereavement Leave with pay for a period of up to five (5) consecutive working days, one (1) of which must be the day of the funeral. Employees may request such leave days not to be consecutive and such request shall not be unreasonably denied by the Employer. If an employee while on annual leave suffers a Bereavement, the number of days of annual leave shall not be diminished by the entitlement to Bereavement Leave. Annual Leave may be extended with the consent of the supervisor.
Bereavement – Immediate Family. Each full-time employee shall be entitled to a maximum of three (3) school days with pay, per occurrence, not subtracted from sick leave, for each death of a member of the immediate family shall include parents, spouse, domestic partner, brothers, sisters, children, grandparents, grandchildren, parents-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandparents-in-law, wards, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and legal guardians. Each full-time employee shall be entitled to a maximum of one (1) school day, with pay, per occurrence, not subtracted from sick leave for each incident of death of a person outside the employee's immediate family. This leave shall require request by the employee and approval of the Superintendent. The granting or denial of such day shall be at the sole and exclusive discretion of the Superintendent. Additional bereavement days may be granted upon request by the employee and subsequent approval, if obtained as per the above, but such additional days shall be deducted from sick leave.
Bereavement – Immediate Family. An Administrator(s) shall be granted up to five (5) days for the death and/or death connected illness of a member of the immediate family. Immediate family shall be defined as: parents, spouse/domestic partner, children, brother, sister, father-in- law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, or other long-term members of the immediate household. One (1) of these days may be utilized to attend the funeral of a close friend or relative not in the immediate family.
Bereavement – Immediate Family a) In the event of the death of a Flight Crew Members spouse (including common- law, same sex) or child (including adopted and/or xxxxxx child), the Flight Crew Member shall be entitled to one (1) week off (seven (7) calendar days), with pay, to be taken immediately following the day of death. Upon request, the Flight Crew Member may be granted an additional leave without pay.
b) Flight Crew Members shall be entitled to three (3) days off, with pay, immediately following the day of death of any other immediate family member. For the purposes of this clause, immediate family is defined as: • Grandparent of Flight Crew Member or spouse • Parent of Flight Crew Member or spouse • Brother or sister of Flight Crew Member or spouse • Any relative of a Flight Crew Member who resides permanently in the Flight Crew Member’s household or with whom the Flight Crew Member permanently resides.
c) With prior approval from the Flight Crew Member’s respective Chief Pilot, Flight Crew Members may take bereavement leave at a later date if extenuating circumstances warrant.
d) In extraordinary circumstances, such as lengthy travel time, time off with pay in excess of that specified above may be granted with approval of the Flight Crew Member’s respective Chief Pilot.

This covers an absence from duty of an employee due to a bereavement in the employee’s immediate family of up to, but not exceeding five (5) working days on any one occasion. When used herein immediate family shall include: father, mother, sister, brother, husband, wife, son, daughter, father-in-law, mother-in- law, grandparents, grandchildren, legal guardian, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, step-parents, step- children, step-brother and step-sister. In case of death of the employee’s parents, spouse, child, brother or sister in which the interment takes place at a later date, one of the five days may be saved and used at the later date. If a day is not saved, the employee may request an additional day off which will be covered by vacation or unpaid leave.
