BEREAVEMENT LEAVE AND PAY. A regular employee will be granted up to five (5) days' leave of absence with pay between Monday and Friday inclusive for the purpose of making arrangements and attending the funeral in the event of the death of their spouse or children. Three (3) days leave will be granted in the event of the death of a member of his or her immediate family, which shall be limited to parents, sister, brother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and grandparents. Such day or days leave of absence may include the day of the death and shall include the day of the funeral and need not be either consecutive or in the same week, to facilitate funerals that are delayed. The above is subject to the provision that the employee shall not receive any such additional day or days' leave or pay because the death and/or arrangements and funeral occurred on a plant holiday, or during his or her vacation, or during any leave of absence without pay.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE AND PAY. (a) A regular employee will be granted a minimum of five days leave of absence with pay between Monday and Saturday inclusive for the purpose of making funeral arrangements and attending said funeral in the event of the death of a member of the immediate family.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE AND PAY. 36.01 A apprentice or journeymen employee will be granted up to three (3) full days leave of absence with pay between Monday and Friday inclusive for the purpose of making arrangements and attending the funeral in the event of the death of a member of his or her family, which shall be limited to husband, wife, parents, children, sister, brother, grandparents, mother-in-law or father-in-law. Such possible day or days’ leave of absence shall be between the day of death and the day of the funeral inclusive. If this article is less than applicable Provincial Legislation, Provincial legislation shall apply.

In order to qualify for bereavement leave, an employee shall have completed sixty (60) days of continuous service with the Company.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE AND PAY. 37.1 An apprentice or journeyperson employee will be granted up to three (3) full days leave of absence with pay between Monday and Friday inclusive in the event of the death of a member of his or her family, which shall be limited to husband, wife, parents, children, sister, brother, grandparents, mother-in-law or father-in-law. Such possible day or days’ leave of absence shall be between the day of death and the day of internment or celebration of life. If this article is less than applicable Provincial Legislation shall apply.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE AND PAY. A. In the event of a death in the immediate family (spouse, children, stepchildren, step-parents, father, mother, father-in- law, mother-in-law, brothers and sisters) regular scheduled employees shall be granted a maximum of five days with pay for the purpose of making funeral arrangements and-or attending the funeral. Three days will be granted for the death of a sister- in-law, son-in-law, brother-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparents, step-parent or grandchild.
B. If the person in charge of making funeral arrangements has to travel more than 640 kilometers from the City of Prince Xxxxxx, a maximum of five days bereavement leave will be granted.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE AND PAY. A. The Company will grant bereavement leave as required by law.
B. An employee who has ninety (90) days of service, shall be granted necessary time off for the purpose of grieving, making the necessary arrangements or attending the funeral when death occurs in the employee’s immediate family.
C. The immediate family shall be defined as spouse, domestic partner, child, stepchild, mother, father, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, stepparents or stepsiblings.
D. Bereavement leave pay shall be paid for three (3) days.
E. Bereavement leave pay for hours lost on the employee’s regular scheduled shift shall be based on the employee’s regular straight time hourly rate.
F. No bereavement leave pay will be granted unless the employee notifies the Company and requests leave within fifteen (15) days of the employee becoming aware of the death. If the date the leave will be needed is not known within fifteen (15) days of the employee becoming aware of the death, the employee will notify HR of the death and request for leave, and provide the date as soon as it is known by the employee. Bereavement leave and pay shall be requested on the form provided by HR. Bereavement leave must be taken within sixty (60) days of the death. In order to process payroll request, the employee must furnish proof of relationship and proof of death to HR.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE AND PAY. 23.01 When death occurs to a member of a regular full-time employee’s immediate family, the employee will be granted an appropriate leave of absence for which he or she shall be compensated at his or her regular straight time hourly rate of pay for hours lost from his or her regular work schedule for a maximum of three (3) days.
23.02 Members of the employee’s immediate family are defined as spouse, child, parent, legal guardian, sibling, mother in-law, father in-law, grandchild or grandparent of the employee and any person who lives with the employee as a member of the employee’s family.
23.03 In the event that the employee has to travel more than 400 km as a result of death to a member of the regular full-time employee’s immediate family, the employee shall be compensated at his or her regular straight time hourly rate of pay for hours lost from his or her regular work schedule for a maximum of five (5) days.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE AND PAY. (a) In the event of death of an employee's spouse or child, the Company shall grant an excused absence with pay for the hours such employee is scheduled to work on any five (5) days occurring between the date of death and the day following the funeral, both dates inclusive. In the event of death of any other member in the immediate family of an employee, the Company shall grant an excused absence with pay for the hours such employee is scheduled to work on any three (3) days occurring between the date of death and the day following the
(b) The term "immediate family" shall include the employee's mother, father, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother, sister, step-child, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent, great-grandparent or grandchild. The agreed to definition of step-child is the child of one‟s spouse by a former marriage, provided the child is residing with the employee.
(c) The rate of pay shall be based upon a maximum of twenty-four (24) hours at the employee's regular straight time hourly rate.
(d) This Section shall be inapplicable when the bereavement period occurs during the employee's vacation, holiday, leave of absence for any reason, layoff, or suspension.
(e) The Company may require proof of such death and relationship before making any payment under this Section, and no payment will be allowed if the employee does not attend the funeral of the deceased relative because of distance or other cause.
(f) Leave of absence under this Section shall not be used in computing overtime or days of work under any other provision of this Agreement.
