Common use of Cancellation Compensation Clause in Contracts

Cancellation Compensation. If a bargaining unit member is scheduled to work a University function or special event, outside of the employee’s normal work schedule, and is notified less than eight (8) hours prior to the scheduled reporting time that he/she is not required to report due to the cancellation of the event or function for non-emergency reasons, the employee will receive three (3) hours at the straight time rate of pay. The member shall not be required to report for duty in order to receive the three (3) hours of pay.
