Civil Service Custodian. A Civil Service Custodian who bumps into a lower Civil Service classification shall retain his or her previous rate until a position in the original classification is offered. A Civil Service custodian bumped into a Non-Civil Service position will be paid at the next lower wage rate in the lower wage range. RECALL FROM LAYOFF A. An employee who is laid off shall be recalled by the District based upon seniority within the classification from which s/he was laid off. B. Employees laid off shall retain such right of recall for a period of twenty-four (24) calendar months from the date of layoff. Employees recalled by the District shall be reinstated with seniority rights accumulated as of the date of their layoff. Any employee recalled by the District who rejects such an assignment shall be deemed to have quit and shall relinquish all recall rights provided in this Article and Agreement.
