Common use of Cleaner Craft Clause in Contracts

Cleaner Craft. The work of a Cleaner shall include, but not be limited to, cleaning, washing, polishing, and waxing the interior and exterior of aircraft, aircraft parts, maintenance equipment, shops and hangars, including the replacement of aircraft seat covers and carpets on aircraft checks, turnarounds, and through flights, as well as the operation of motor vehicles when necessary for the performance of their duties, when such work is to be performed in and around the hangars and shops. Cleaners will not be allowed to perform the work of a higher Craft unless all employees within such Craft have first been given the opportunity to perform such work in a timely manner and are unable to do so, or the work is necessary or required to maintain a schedule and is emergency in nature. Work which only requires the use of physical exertion, and no hand tools, may be performed by Cleaners on an as-needed basis. (See, LOA #16, at page 1.)
