Common use of Climate Action Clause in Contracts

Climate Action. 1. The Parties agree to undertake climate action to address adaptation, mitigation, as well as means of implementation and be focused on the most vulnerable countries, including Small Island Developing States, Low-lying Coastal States, Least Developed Countries and Land Locked Developing Countries. 2. The Parties agree to implement and track progress towards their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and to strive to formulate and communicate mid-century, long-term low greenhouse gas emission development strategies in order to achieve the temperature goal agreed in the Paris Agreement, while taking into account their common but differentiated responsibilities and respective capabilities, in the light of different national circumstances. They commit to enhance the linkages between NDCs, the 2030 Agenda and their national strategies. 3. The Parties agree to engage in adaptation planning, implementation and monitor progress in the implementation of National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and other strategies. They commit to set up and strengthen effective governance structures for this purpose. They recognise the need to further strengthen the integration of NAPs and other adaptation strategies into national strategies and processes in order to achieve climate-resilient sustainable development.
