Clinical Ladder. University Hospital is preparing for American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Pathway to Excellence/Magnet Designation. The Nursing Clinical Ladder is a requirement for ANCC Pathway and Magnet Hospital Designation. The Ladder is a structured program designed to guide nurses in their advancement both clinically and into future leadership roles. This program differentiates levels of nursing expertise and contributions through four progressive tiers.
1. Current NJ Professional Registered Nursing license 2. Non-exempt RN involved in bedside care (at least 51%)

Clinical Ladder. Section 1- Definition of the Clinical Ladder
Clinical Ladder. Hospital representatives will work together with ONA Nurses, with representation from every Nursing Department that elects to participate, in a committee that has no more Hospital representation than Nurses (and may have fewer), to define objective and measurable guidelines for a clinical ladder compensation option for full and part-time Nurses. Guidelines will include ultimate approval by CEO for standards and compensation as well as CEO approval for each clinical ladder project proposal and the validation of each project completion. The Hospital will dedicate $25,000/year for the next three (3) years (life of this contract) to Clinical Ladder compensation for ONA members who receive validation of completion of their approved proposal. Unearned dedicated funds will be returned to the general fund annually.
Clinical Ladder. The Clinical Ladder system is designed to encourage and reward RNs for engaging in activities that enhance their professional development, thereby making them a greater asset to St. ▇▇▇▇’s Rehabilitation and its patients. Specifically, the parties agree as follows:

Clinical Ladder. 28.1 The Hospital may in its sole discretion create and implement a Clinical Ladder Program during the life of this Agreement. Prior to the implementation, the Hospital will provide thirty (30) days’ notice to the Union of its decision to implement along with the details of such program.

Section 2 - CN III Eligibility Criteria
A. Current license as an RN in the State of California.
B. Three (3) years recent RN clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting with a minimum of one (1) year of the three (3) constituting current RN employment at El Camino Hospital working in the CN III’s area of clinical practice.
C. Documentation of thirty (30) hours per year of educational experience in nursing.
D. Full-time/part-time and per diem work status.

Clinical Ladder. The parties agree the Nursing Task Force agenda will include discussions on a potential Clinical Ladder for nurses at the Hospital, as well as discussions regarding Standby/Callback in the Operating Room Department and concerns the nurses have regarding the current process. Nurses who are members of the OFNHP bargaining team will be permitted, at their option, to take an MDO day on those dates that the parties net for negotiation sessions. Nurses who take an MDO day for a day of negotiations will not suffer loss of any fringe benefits as a result of not working on such day.
