Common use of Collection Vehicle Noise Level Clause in Contracts

Collection Vehicle Noise Level. The noise level generated by collection vehicles using compaction mechanisms during the stationary compaction process shall not exceed seventy-five (75) decibels at a distance of twenty-five (25) feet from the collection vehicle measured at an elevation of five (5) feet above ground level using the “A” scale of the standard sound level meter at slow response. CONTRACTOR shall cause each collection vehicle to be tested no less than once every three (3) years during the months of March and April. CONTRACTOR shall maintain copies of certificates of testing showing the results of the vehicle testing and shall make such certificates available for inspection upon request by the City Representative. CONTRACTOR shall not use any collection vehicle that does not meet the noise level limitations of this Section.
