Conferment of degree. The conferment of the joint degree will be subject to the degree regulations in force at the two consortium universities participating in the viva. Specifically, the degree can only be conferred once all local requirements set by these two institutions (such as the requirement to publish the thesis) have been met by the candidate. Each consortium university is responsible for making information about these requirements available to all candidates that it has agreed to consider for the award of a joint degree, irrespective of where the xxxxx for these candidates are held. The two universities awarding the degree are jointly responsible for ensuring that any such requirements have been met by the candidate at both institutions prior to the conferment of the degree. The recommendation of the doctoral committee will be communicated to the candidate by the viva-­‐holding institution on behalf of the TEEME consortium and communicated simultaneously to all TEEME institutions. All institutions should note that the deadline set by the EU Agency funding the programme (EACEA) is 50 months after the candidate’s initial registration with TEEME and that awards have to be made within that time frame.
