Cost of Tests. The costs of making, storing and testing of concrete test cubes as required under clause 7 'Tests' of SABS 1200 G shall include the cost of providing cube moulds necessary for the purpose, for testing costs and for submitting reports on the tests to the Architect. The testing shall be undertaken by an independent firm or institution nominated by the Contractor to the approval of the Architect. (Test cubes are measured separately).

ACCESS TO SITE The Employer and the Engineer and any persons authorized by either of them shall, at all times, have access to the Works and to the Site and to all workshops and places where work is being prepared or whence materials, manufactured articles or machinery are being obtained for the Works and the Contractor shall afford every facility for and every assistance in or in obtaining the right to such access. EXAMINATION OF WORK BEFORE COVERING UP No work shall be covered up or put out of view without the approval of the Engineer and the Contractor shall afford full opportunity for the Engineer to examine and measure any work which is about to be covered up or put out of view and to examine foundations before permanent work is placed thereon. The Contractor shall give due notice to the Engineer whenever any such work or foundations is or are ready or about to be ready for examination and the Engineer shall without unreasonable delay unless he considers it unnecessary and advises the Contractor accordingly attend for the purpose of examining and measuring such work or of examining such foundations. REMOVAL OF IMPROPER WORK AND MATERIALS The Engineer shall during the progress of the Works have power to order in writing from time to time, and the Contractor shall execute at his cost and expense, the following operations: The removal from the Site within such time or times as may be specified in the order of any materials which in the opinion of the Engineer are not in accordance with the Contract; The substitution of proper and suitable materials; and The removal and proper re-execution (notwithstanding any previous test thereof or interim payment therefore) of any work which in respect of materials or workmanship is not in the opinion of the Engineer in accordance with the Contract. In case of default on the part of the Contractor in carrying out an instruction of the Engineer, the Employer shall be entitled to employ and pay other persons to carry out the same and all expenses consequent thereon or incidental thereto shall be borne by the Contractor and shall be recoverable from him by the Employer and may be deducted by the Employer from an...
Cost of Tests. The cost of making any test shall be borne by the Contractor if such test is:
(a) clearly intended by or provided for in the Contract, or
(b) particularised in the Contract (in cases of a test under load or of a test to ascertain whether the design of any finished or partially finished work is appropriate for the purposes which it was intended to fulfil) in sufficient detail to enable the Contractor to price or allow for the same in his Tender.

(Test cubes are measured separately) Breeze concrete shall consist of twelve parts clean dry furnace ash, free from coal or other foreign matter, to one part cement (12:1), the ash graded up to particles which will pass a 16,5mm ring from a minimum which fails to pass a 4,75mm mesh. The finer materials from the screening are to be first mixed with the cement into a mortar and the ash added afterwards and thoroughly incorporated "Foamcement" lightweight concrete is to have a density of 600kg/m3 for the top 50mm and 400kg/m3 for the remaining thickness. The minimum thickness at outlets, channels, etc shall be 50mm
Cost of Tests. The cost of making any test shall be borne by the Contractor/ Vendor if such test is intended by or provided for in the specification or BOQ.

(Test cubes are measured separately) Description of formwork shall be deemed to include use and waste only (except where described as "left in" or "permanent"), for fitting together in the required forms, wedging, plumbing and fixing to true angles and surfaces as necessary to ensure easy release during stripping and for reconditioning as necessary before re- use The vertical strutting shall be carried down to such construction as is sufficiently strong to afford the required support without damage and shall remain in position until the newly constructed work is able to support itself. Formworks to soffits of solid etc shall be deemed to be slabs not exceeding 250mm thick unless otherwise described
Cost of Tests. (a) The cost of conducting any test related to the Work shall be borne by Contractor unless such test is clearly intended by or provided for in this Agreement as being the responsibility of Owner If the results of such test indicate that the Equipment or the workmanship do not conform to the requirements of this Agreement (including the Specifications and Prudent Industry Practices), the costs shall be borne solely by Contractor.
(b) If the results of any such test indicate that the applicable Equipment or workmanship do not conform to the requirements of this Agreement (including the Specifications) and Owner has reasonable grounds to suspect that any other similar Equipment or workmanship may not conform to the requirements of this Agreement (including the Specifications), Owner may require Contractor to carry out further tests, which in the reasonable opinion of Owner are necessary to verify that such other similar Equipment or workmanship conforms to the requirements of this Agreement (including the Specifications). The costs of any such tests shall be borne by Owner if such tests reveal that such Equipment and workmanship conforms to the requirements of this Agreement (including the Specifications).
