Article RECOGNITIONAND MEMBERSHIP The Company agrees to recognize the Union as the exclusive representative of all permanent employees within the jurisdiction of the Union in the foregoing plant of the Company for the purpose of collective bargainingin respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment and other condi- tions of employment. The bargaining unit shall consist of all permanent employees within the jurisdiction of the Union in the foregoing plant save and except office and sales staff, watchmen and technical employees and those excluded by the Manitoba Labour RelationsAct. Employees who are hired for special work, such as construction or temporary maintenance work and summer stu- dents have the status of “temporary employee” and are not covered by the terms of this Agreement.

The "INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY" will be held on the following days: Friday, March Friday, March Monday, March Employees will not be required to work on these holidays and shall be paid for eight (8) hours at their regular rates. Employees who, on the day of a holiday, are on lay-off (conditional upon 15.07) or victims of an ill- ness or accident, work related or not, will have the right to receive the difference between their regular wages and payment they would receive from applic- able wage indemnification programs public or pri- vate, for the holiday. All holidays herein enumerated shall be paid during the life of this Agreement, regardless of the days of the week upon which they may fall. For the Christmas and New Year's holidays, an employee will only lose holiday pay equivalent to the day or days missed before or after a holiday or holidays.
