For the avoidance of doubt the hirer is responsible for the conduct of any person in respect of the bus, while the bus is in the care and custody of the hirer. Users will be charged $25 AUD per day (or part thereof) to hire the bus. The amount payable for bus hire will be deducted from the $500 deposit given at the time of vehicle pick-up. In the event that the bus hire cost exceeds $500, the deposit will not be returned and any outstanding charges must be paid at the return of the vehicle. Drivers are responsible for paying all diesel costs within the hire period. The bus must be returned with a full tank of diesel, at your expense. If the tank is not filled upon return, an administrative cost of $30 will be charged for the inconvenience of refilling, in addition to the cost of the refuel. A flat rate cleaning fee of $30 will be charged for any hire exceeding 24 hours. One day only hires will be charged a cleaning fee of $15. An additional cleaning fee of $350 will be charged if the bus is returned in an unacceptable state and requires a deep clean, at the discretion of the ANUSA Executive. Subject to this clause 4, the remaining amount of the bus deposit, after deduction of bus hire costs and any costs or losses incurred by ANUSA as a result of the bus hire, will be returned upon receipt of an approved ANUSA Bus Hire Condition Form. Please note that return of the bond may take up to 10 business days to be processed. If deduction of bus hire costs from the deposit results in a negative amount, the amount owing will be charged to the driver/club/society/ department responsible for the hire.
