Early Return and Emergency Situations. a. In the case of an incomplete pregnancy, death of a child, or other special situations, an application for return to duty at a date earlier than that specified above will be considered by the Employer. Every reasonable effort will be made to comply with such an application. The teacher intending to make an early return to duty will submit a written application and, where applicable, a medical certificate. b. On return from maternity leave, under the terms of this agreement, the teacher will be assigned to the position that he/she would have held if the leave had not been taken. In the event the position no longer exists, the teacher shall be assigned to a similar position at the same school. All other subsequent staff changes would apply as per the Collective Agreement.
