Effect of Classification Changes on Employees. Whenever a position is reclassified from one class to another class, the employee shall remain in the position with the same benefits and credit for service as he/she had in the position prior to its reclassification, except as noted below: a. Whenever a position is reclassified from one class to a higher class, the employee shall be promoted and continue in the position only if he/she possesses the minimum qualifications for the higher class and thereafter successfully completes a three (3) month trial service period for the higher class b. A position that is reclassified from one class to a lower class could result in the employee being paid less than his/her present salary. However, a reclassification study may determine that the employee will continue to be paid at his/her present salary with the understanding that any future increases shall be made pursuant to policies for employees whose wages are considered frozen. SECTION U– COUNTY VEHICLES 1. It is recognized that County fleet and risk control policies may limit the removal of County-owned vehicles from Kitsap County. 2. County-owned vehicles may not be used to commute to employees’ homes unless pre-approved for specific county-related business.
