Common use of Entitlement to Acting Pay Clause in Contracts

Entitlement to Acting Pay. When an employee is required by the Employing Authority to perform the primary functions of a position with a higher maximum salary for a period of four (4) consecutive working days or more, the employee shall be paid acting pay to be effective to the day the employee commenced the acting appointment. The rate of acting pay shall be the greater of: (a) the first step of the pay range for the higher position being filled, or (b) the step in the pay range for the higher position being filled which provides an increase of not less than seven percent (7%). The employee shall be entitled to advance to the next step in the range when an increment is due.
