Environmental and Social Measures. 1. Except as the Association shall otherwise agree, the Recipient shall carry out Part A of the Project in accordance with the ESMF and RPF, and shall not amend or waive, or permit to be amended or waived, the ESMF and RPF or any provisions thereof in a manner which, in the opinion of the Association, may materially and adversely affect the implementation of the Project. 2. The Recipient shall ensure that environmental focal points are appointed within the MDFTs to ensure that Subprojects are implemented in accordance with the ESMF and RPF.

Environmental and Social Measures. 2. The Recipient shall implement the Project in accordance with the ESASR and the CESA. Without limitation to the generality of the foregoing, the Recipient shall not implement any Project activity which results in the involuntary resettlement of persons or the involuntary acquisition of land, save with the prior consent of the Bank and on such terms as the Bank may require.
Environmental and Social Measures. (a) The Recipient shall cause LACE to carry out the Project in accordance with the provisions of the ESMF and the RPF; (b) The Recipient shall cause LACE to ensure that an environmental and social impact assessment or other environmental analysis is carried out in a form that is satisfactory to the Association prior to the implementation of the Sub-projects financed under the Project as shall be required, based on the results of the environmental and social screening process set forth in the ESMF; (c) In the event that the screening process in the ESMF, or the environmental and social impact assessment or other environmental analysis carried out under sub-paragraph (b) above determines that a proposed Sub-project would have a potential negative environmental or social impact, the Recipient shall ensure that a management plan that is satisfactory to the Association is prepared and implemented to mitigate against such negative impacts in accordance with the guidelines in the ESMF; and (d) Without limitation to the generality of sub-paragraph (c) above, if it is determined that a Sub-project would involve involuntary resettlement of persons and/or loss of means of livelihood of the affected persons as a result of the involuntary acquisition of land, the Recipient shall ensure that resettlement action plans satisfactory to the Association are prepared in accordance with the principles and procedures specified in the RPF and implemented for the benefit of the affected persons.

Without limitation upon the Recipient’s other reporting obligations under Section 4.02 of this Agreement, the Recipient shall submit quarterly consolidated reports on compliance with environmental and social safeguard measures under the Project, giving details of measures taken in furtherance of the RPF and the mitigation measures specified in the ESMF, and conditions, if any, which interfere or threaten implementation of the RPF or the mitigation measures specified in the ESMF, and remedial measures taken or required to be taken to address such conditions.

Environmental and Social Measures. 7.1 The Second Party shall take measures to ensure safe operation of all products supplied, including disposal and recycling at the end of the product lifetime. The procedures for safe battery disposal shall be prepared in consultation with all Second Parties and other relevant stakeholders in order to obtain their feedback and suggestions.
