Exhibition Title and Content. The title of the exhibition is “Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx: Even Odd”. The concept of the exhibition: Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx is an intermedia artist who entered the Czech art scene at the turn of the 1990s. Her main focus is on human intimacy and emotionality. In her objects, videos, and photographs she works with themes of social, physical, and gender identity. For instance, one of her past themes was about reaching adulthood, ageing, and death. Although she appeared on the art scene before the start of the new millennium, her work remains current specifically because of the questions she asks herself. Her almost sociological approach will appear in upcoming installation for BOZAR in Brussels, which is focused on the experience of solidarity as the principle concept of Europe. An individual’s identity helps to shape the society in whose creation the individual directly participates. Xxxxxxxx’x aim is to find understanding and solidarity across cultural differences and nationalities. The exhibition Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx: Even Odd comprises a group of objects whose form is derived from the shapes found in model train sets. In this way Xxxxxxxx builds on the simple, yet very appealing, symbolism of the infrastructure that connects the individual European countries. These objects take on anthropomorphic shapes, which represent the individual in the network of that individual’s social relationships and experiences. A sense of solidarity and unity is not a matter of course, but is something that must be striven for over the long term, and it is a daily task both for society and for each and every one of us. Specification of the Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx´s Work of Art, that is to be presented at the Exhibition, forms Annex No. 1 to this Agreement.
