Extra Duties. When a vacancy or an absence longer than five (5) working days occurs, the work unit supervisor shall prepare a written work plan for the distribution of work which will be shared with all employees in the work unit. If the work plan results in the partial distribution of essential functions of a higher classified job, each employee assigned those duties and responsibilities outside of their own classification shall receive an additional two percent (2%) of their regular pay as extra duties’ compensation during the duration of the work plan assignments. Such compensation shall be retroactive to the first day of the assignment. The assignments shall be evaluated in the annual performance evaluation.
