Common use of Family Illness/Death Clause in Contracts

Family Illness/Death. Any unit employee on a permanent basis who is unable to perform his/her duty in the school because of illness, or because of death of father, mother, brother, sister, husband, wife, child, other close relative or member of his/her own household, and consequently has to be absent from his/her work, shall be granted leave of absence for sickness by the Superintendent, or by someone designated in writing by him/her to do so.
