Fire Procedures. A copy of the buildings fire procedure is displayed in each bedroom. You must not use candles, xxxx sticks, oil lamps or other such items within the Halls of Residence and you are not permitted to heat wax or deep fat fry in open pans; these items will be confiscated if found. Subject to the requirements on testing of electrical equipment contained in this clause, electric deep fat fryers are permitted in the kitchens. You must never leave cooking unattended. It is essential that flammable materials, such as turpentine and white spirit, are not brought into the Halls of Residence as they emit vapours and a spark could lead to a major fire. Quantities of aerosols are also not permitted. Any type of electrical equipment needs to be tested before it is brought into the Halls of Residence. This is particularly important if an item is from outside the UK due to voltage differences. Please do not use this equipment before having it tested. Due to fire safety legislation students must not bring their own furnishings or curtains. Foam covered bedding material and furnishings and inflatable furniture pose a particular risk and all students are prohibited from bringing any of those items into the Halls of Residence. Students are permitted to use battery operated fairy lights only. Lights should not be draped over flammable materials such as paper and soft furnishings. You must not put anything directly on the heaters or very close by. Please ensure that irons, chargers and hair appliances are turned off immediately after use. Only use chargers supplied with your mobile phone. You need to ensure you are familiar with the designated fire assembly point. It is essential that no items are left in stairwells or corridors that could block a fire escape route. In particular, bicycles and similar objects are not permitted inside the Halls of Residence except, designated bicycle storage. This is regularly checked and enforced by security and the Accommodation Services Team and any items blocking possible fire escape routes will be removed. There are manually operated fire alarm call points located on the landing of each floor and they automatically sound the fire alarm when activated. In addition, heat detectors are fitted in all kitchens and smoke detectors are fitted in bedrooms and corridors and are linked to the fire alarms. Fire Procedures. THE HIRER acknowledges that she/he has received instruction in the following matters: · The action to be taken in event of fire. This includes calling the fire brigade and evacuating the Theatre; · The location and use of fire equipment. · Escape routes and the need to keep them clear. · Method of operation of escape door fastenings. · Appreciation of the importance of any fire doors and of closing all fire doors at the time of a fire The Fire Brigade shall be called to any outbreak of fire, however slight, and details thereof shall be given to the Theatre Manager or member of staff and reported to The Theatre Management Group. Performances involving danger to the public shall not be given. Highly flammable substances shall not be brought into or used in any portion of the Theatre. No internal decorations of a combustible nature (e.g., polystyrene, cotton wool) shall be erected without the consent of the Theatre Manager.
Fire Procedures. 19.1 The Hall is fitted with a fire alarm system linked to smoke detectors in the main hall, bar and kitchen. In the event of a fire, the alarm will sound and the fire curtains between the bar and kitchen serveries and the hall will automatically lower.
19.2 There are five emergency exits from the Hall; the main entrance and two fire doors in the main hall at the opposite end to the entrance, the kitchen exit onto the car park, and the external door in the storeroom. Two water extinguishers are located in the main hall and one in the entrance lobby; a CO2 extinguisher and fire blanket are located in the kitchen. The assembly point in the event of the hall having to be evacuated is the children’s playground.
19.3 It is the responsibility of the hirer to familiarise themselves, and others attending the hall during the period of hire, with the location of fire exits, the firefighting equipment and the assembly point.
Fire Procedures. Each dock is equipped with fire extinguishers in the event of a fire emergency. Boaters should notify 9-1-1 then marina staff by VHF radio in the event of a fire.

Fire Procedures. The hirer is responsible for informing staff, service users (including children where relevant) and visitors of the fire arrangements, and for ensuring their safe evacuation. The hirer must familiarise themselves with the layout of the School buildings – and in particular, fire exits, extinguishers and alarms etc. prior to the hiring taking place. The hirer should ensure a personal emergency evacuation plan (PEEP) is drawn up for anyone with a disability or special need who may require assistance to escape in the event of a fire and for ensuring this is tested in the course of their fire drills. If you suspect a fire please break the glass at the nearest call point and evacuate immediately outside the designated fire assembly point behind the Maths and Humanities block. The break glass should trigger the alarm response company to contact the Fire Brigade. The hirer should ensure that at least two people who are not likely to be away at the same time are appointed to take charge of the fire register. The hirer or their representative should check the register and inform the member of site staff on duty that all persons are accounted for (or if anyone is missing). If the site staff member on duty cannot be contacted then wait for the Fire Brigade and inform them of the situation. Do not go back into the building for any reason. If signs of a fire are seen or smelt, the ring 999. It is better that they are informed multiple times rather than not at all.
