Galleries, Gutters and Sumps. Galleries, gutters and sumps within the penstock and dam areas will be cleaned of mud, debris, leaves, and other contaminates. Calcium deposits will be removed from walls floors and pipes as applicable. The walls of sumps and gutters will be scraped and/or washed with pressure washing equipment as necessary. All accumulated waste materials will be removed from the penstock areas and disposed of IAW county, state, and federal regulations for hazardous materials. Hazardous waste materials will consist of petroleum products, such as waste oil and grease. Records of disposal will be maintained IAW TP-1.22. Removal of calcium deposits will be accomplished in such a manner so as not to damage the concrete or pipe surfaces below. Initiation of gallery, gutter and sump cleanings will be through the issuance of a work order as referenced in TP-1.25. This work will be accomplished under level II services.
