Graduate Nurse. A Nurse who is a new graduate of a Nurse educational program who holds a conditional license from the Nova Scotia College of Nursing pending completion of initial licensing requirements. A Graduate nurse shall be paid at the rate of RN 1, until such time as they receive a Nurse license, when they will move to the appropriate classification for the position. The Anniversary Date will be the original date of employment as a Graduate nurse.
Graduate Nurse. Nurse is defined as a nurse who is a graduate of a program acceptable to the College of Nurses of Ontario and is in the process of being certified by the College of Nurses of Ontario or is completing certification requirements. This certification shall be completed within twenty-four (24) months following date of hire. A graduate nurse shall notify the Employer of the results of the College of Nurses exam(s) she writes.
Graduate Nurse i) A graduate nurse pending registration is a nurse who holds a Temporary Certificate of Registration in accordance with the Nursing Xxx 0000 and its Regulations and must obtain his/her General Certificate of Registration prior to the expiry of her Temporary Certificate.
ii) If the nurse fails to obtain his/her General Certificate of Registration prior to the expiry of his/her Temporary Certificate Registration, but in any case not longer than one (1) year from he/her date of hire, he/she will be deemed to be not qualified for the position of Registered Nurse and he/she will be terminated from the employ of the Region. Such termination shall not be the subject of a grievance or arbitration.
iii) A nurse who holds a Temporary Certificate of Registration shall be paid at a rate below Step 1 of Schedule “A” at the fixed rate of 95% per hour of the classification rate.
iv) Upon proof of receiving a General Certificate, the rate of pay shall be at Step 1.
Graduate Nurse. A graduate nurse in the employ of the Home, upon presenting proof of current registration by the College of Nurses of Ontario, shall be given the salary of a registered nurse as provided in this Article retroactive to the date of successfully writing the registration examination or to the date of last hire, whichever is later.
Graduate Nurse. A graduate nurse pending registration is a nurse who holds a Temporary Certificateof Registration in accordance with the NursingAct and its Regulations and must obtain General Certificate of Registration prior to the expiry of her Temporary Certificate. If the nurse fails to obtain General Certificate of Registration prior to the expiry of Temporary Registration, but in any case not longer than one (1) year from date of hire, will be deemed to be not qualified for the position of Registered Nurse and will be terminated from the employ of the Region. Such termination shall not be the subject of a grievance or arbitration. A nurse who holds a Temporary Certificate of Registrationshall be paid at a rate below Step of Schedule at the fixed rate of per hour of the classification rate. Upon proof of receiving a General Certificate, the rate of pay shall be at Step A Childbirth Educator is a nurse hired to provide childbirth education classes as scheduled by the Employer. The Childbirth Educator is classifiedas casual part- time for the purpose of seniority and is entitled to vacation and paid holidays as per Articles and The overtime provisions in Article do not apply to Childbirth Educators.
a) A master schedule outlining hours of work will be implemented. Part-time nurses may be offered hours beyond their predetermined regularly scheduled hours, but less than seventy (70) hours per two week pay period, on an equitable basis within their team. Part-time nurses with the required skills and knowledge may be offered hours beyondtheir predetermined regularly scheduled hours, but less than seventy (70) hours per two week pay period on an equitable basis across all teams within Public Health programs. Where possible, extra hours will be offered to permanent part-time nurses prior to being offeredto temporary part-timeand casual nurses.
Graduate Nurse. The term “Graduate Nurse” as used in this Agreement refers to a Nurse employed by the Hospital in Nursing Services who has completed the educational requirements to become a Registered Nurse but who has not yet been licensed as such. Hours worked by a Graduate Nurse who successfully becomes a Staff Registered Nurse covered by this Agreement shall be credited toward fulfillment of the Introductory Period but shall not be counted in the calculation of the seniority of that Nurse under Article XI of this Agreement. A Graduate Nurse shall not be covered by or be subject to the terms of this Agreement in any way, however, the Hospital may extend to or credit a Graduate Nurse with the fringe benefits under this Agreement.
Graduate Nurse. Nurse is a person with registration incomplete, who is a graduate of a program acceptable to the College of Nurses of Ontario, and is either in the process of being registered by the College of Nurses, or is completing registration requirements for whatever reason. A Graduate Nurse, on presentation of their registration or proof of the successful passing of the registration examination, shall be given Registered Nurse's salary from date of employment, or the date of writing the examination, whichever is greater.
Graduate Nurse nurse the employ of the Home, upon presenting proof of current registration by the College of Nurses of Ontario, shall be given the salary of a registered nurse as provided in this Article retroactive to the date of successfully writing the registration examination or to the date of last hire, whichever is later. A graduate nurse will be allowed two (2) years to complete his registration with the College of Nurses. Failure to comply shall result in dismissal without recourse to grievance.

ii) If the nurse fails to obtain the nurse’s General Certificate of Registration prior to the expiry of the nurse’s Temporary Certificate Registration, but in any case not longer than one
(1) year from the nurse’s date of hire, the nurse will be deemed to be not qualified for the position of Registered Nurse and the nurse will be terminated from the employ of the Region. Such termination shall not be the subject of a grievance or arbitration.
iii) A nurse who holds a Temporary Certificate of Registration shall be paid at a rate below Step 1 of Schedule “A” at the fixed rate of 95% per hour of the classification rate.
iv) Upon proof of receiving a General Certificate, the rate of pay shall be at Step 1.
