Hospitalized During Vacation. An eligible employee who is hospitalized due to unforeseen circumstances during their vacation period will be allowed to draw sick leave with pay for the period of time for which they are hospitalized in accordance with Article 22:01 providing that the employee furnishes proof of such hospitalization and unforeseen circumstances to the Employer. The employee will be allowed to reschedule that portion of vacation during which they were hospitalized at a later date mutually agreeable to the employee and the employee’s supervisor.

Hospitalized During Vacation. An employee who is hospitalized or confined by order of a doctor during their vacation period will be allowed to draw sick leave with pay for the period of time for which they are hospitalized or confined providing that the employee furnishes proof of such hospitalization to their supervisor. The employee will be allowed to reschedule that portion of vacation during which they were was hospitalized at a later date mutually agreeable to the employee and their supervisor. If the employee’s spouse or immediate family member becomes hospitalized or comes under a doctor’s care during the employee’s vacation, the employee may request an interruption of vacation and return to work.
Hospitalized During Vacation. Any Employee who is hospitalized or undergoes outpatient surgery during his/her regularly scheduled vacation, shall, upon physician certification, have the right to request rescheduling of that portion of his/her vacation lost as a result of outpatient surgery or hospitalization. Vacation shall be rescheduled under the direction of the department head in cooperation with the Employee.

If the employee receives a benefit under Section 14.12 for that period of hospitalization, they will not be charged either vacation of paid personal leave except for the purpose of supplementation under Section 14.12.
