Common use of Illness/Injury Clause in Contracts

Illness/Injury. A. In the event of absence occasioned by illness or injury, Engineers will be granted leave of absence automatically upon presentation of written application accompanied by appropriate substantiating medical evidence. Such automatic leaves will not be for a period of more than one year, and extensions thereof will require a new application and further substantiating medical evidence. In case the employing officer and/or the General Chairman are not satisfied that the illness or injury is bona fide, additional evidence may be required to establish same to their satisfaction.
