Importance of Professional Development. Professional development and support is a key component of the District's education program. A strong professional development process focuses on improved student outcomes and the instructional practices and strategies needed to reach those outcomes. The professional development continuum must be continuous, constructive, growth oriented, and take place in an atmosphere of trust and respect.
