Information and Files. 16.1.1. The School Division shall submit proposed School Division regulations pertaining to teachers to representatives of its teaching staff. It shall be the responsibility of these representatives to communicate the views of the teachers regarding the proposed School Division regulations to the School Division. 16.1.2. Newly appointed teachers may be required to present a medical certificate of good health and satisfactory proof of age. 16.1.3. Upon employment with the School Division, each teacher shall be given a copy of the current collective agreement.

Information and Files. 17.2.1 Upon request, all new appointees to the teaching staff shall submit: 17.2.1.1 A valid Alberta teaching certificate or letter of authority 17.2.1.2 A birth certificate 17.2.1.3 A medical certificate of sound health on a form provided by the Chief Superintendent of Schools or delegated authority 17.2.1.4 Proof of previous teaching experience from previous employer(s), 17.2.1.5 Evidence of teacher qualifications in the form of a TQS evaluation, and 17.2.1.6 Any other information which may be required for official record purposes. 17.2.2 Teachers who change their names during the school year shall provide Human Resources with appropriate evidence (e.g. copy of marriage certificate, at the time of request for change). Data must be submitted promptly, especially when a change in teaching certificate is applicable. 17.2.3 The Board will endeavour to provide a contract of employment to each teacher prior to the teacher commencing duties. Each teacher will endeavour to sign and return said contract within twenty-four (24) hours of receipt. The Board shall ensure an electronic copy of the current Collective Agreement is available to all teachers.
Information and Files. 17.1.1 The Employer and the Association recognize the advantage and acknowledge the mutual benefits to be derived from communications through the various channels that are available to them. 17.1.2 The Employer shall submit proposed regulations and policies pertaining to teachers to the elected representatives of its teaching staff during the time which schools are operating. (Expires when clause 17.1.3.1 comes into effect) 17.1.3.1 Effective September 1, 2019, clause 17.1.3 shall be rewritten to read: The Employer shall place a copy of the Collective Agreement and the Employer’s current policies on the Employer’s website, as well as a link to the Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan website for access to a description of benefit plans.

The Employer shall submit, in writing, proposed Employer regulations, administrative procedures and/or Employer policies pertaining to teachers to the ATA Local No 18 and the teacher chairperson of the Teacher Board Advisory Committee (TBAC). 16.2.2. It shall be the responsibility of the ATA Local No 18 to provide the Employer with the names of the local executive, school representatives and the TBAC chairperson. 16.2.3. The teachers shall, through their representatives, make such representations as they wish concerning any changes proposed by the Employer within three calendar weeks of receipt of written notice of any proposed change.

Information and Files. 17.1.1 Personnel Files: Teachers shall upon notice to the Superintendent or designate be given access to the contents of their personnel files. 17.1.2 The School Division shall effect and keep in force a policy or policies of insurance, insuring every teacher in its employ, when acting in the course of such teacher’s employment, against liability in respect of any claim for damages or personal injury.
