Common use of Intensive Outpatient Services Clause in Contracts

Intensive Outpatient Services. (ASAM Level 2.1) 1. Intensive outpatient involves structured programming provided to beneficiaries as medically necessary for a minimum of nine hours and a maximum of 19 hours per week for adult perinatal and non-perinatal beneficiaries. Adolescents are provided a minimum of six and a maximum of 19 hours per week. 2. Intensive outpatient services shall include: assessment, treatment planning, individual and/or group counseling, patient education, family therapy, medication services, collateral services, crisis intervention services, treatment planning, and discharge planning and coordination. 3. Services may be provided in-person, by telephone, or by telehealth, and in any appropriate setting in the community.
