Job-Related Workshops. Upon prior written approval of the Division or Department head, an employee may participate in job-related workshops offered by the District or outside agencies. An employee will receive release time for workshop attendance during regularly assigned hours. Unless compensatory time is granted by the employee’s Department head, employees shall attend in-service programs offered at times other than their regularly scheduled work hours without receiving compensation from the District. Compensatory time shall be taken in compliance with Fair Labor Standards Act provisions and the Salary Standardization Ordinance in effect on June 30, 1993.
