Common use of Layoff by Seniority/Service Clause in Contracts

Layoff by Seniority/Service. Employees within effected job titles shall be laid off 7 according to their relative seniority, i.e. their continuous uninterrupted service as a full-time 8 employee in the Medina County Sheriff’s Office with the least senior being laid off first, 9 provided that all students, temporary, part-time, seasonal and probationary employees within the 10 effected job title(s), within the bargaining unit, are laid off first in the above respective order. 11
