Layoff List Candidates. When a vacancy occurs within the University and there are names on an internal layoff list, the University will consider all employees on the list and the internal promotional candidates who satisfy the position requirements. If the certification of candidates from the layoff list and internal promotional candidates does not result in at least ten (10) eligible candidates being certified, the employer may certify other eligible candidates. An employee who is offered a comparable position in the same occupational category/class series and refuses the offer will have his or her name removed from the internal layoff list.
