Common use of Leave due to Assault Clause in Contracts

Leave due to Assault. A teacher assaulted by a student or parent while on duty either in the classroom, or the playground, or serving in an official position at a school sponsored function, shall not have sick days deducted if the assault warrants medical attention or hospitalization. The number of hours or days needed to recover must be authorized by a doctor licensed to practice medicine in Indiana. The Board, at its own expense, may require another licensed physician’s examination and determination.
