The Department will have subject matter experts available to meet with the Committee on an as-needed basis. The Committee will guide development of the local child care program, including development of marketing strategies, operating procedures, and admission priorities.

The Department will have subject matter experts available to meet with the committee on an as needed basis. The committee will guide development of the local child care program, including development of marketing strategies, operating procedures, and admission priorities. The committee will have the opportunity to review and make recommendations which will be considered in the design of the facility. The committee will participate in the selection of the child care provider. In accordance with laws, rules, and regulations, once the center becomes operational, the committee will be replaced by a Board of Directors which the committee will assist in establishing. The Local will designate one representative to serve on the Board of Directors on official time (consistent with Article 6 - Official Time). Bargaining unit employees serving in a non-representational capacity will be on duty time when involved with child care committee/board meetings or assignments.

The Agency will have subject matter experts available to meet with the Committee on an as needed basis. The Committee will guide development of the local child care program, including development of marketing strategies, operating procedures, and admission priorities. If SSA participates in a GSA sponsored child care committee, SSA will consider a union nominee to be a SSA representative on the committee. The local Committee will forward copies of information concerning these issues to the National Child Care Committee. The local Committee will have the opportunity to review and make recommendations which will be considered in the design of the facility. The Committee will participate in the selection of the child care provider. Any unresolved issues shall be referred to the National Child Care Committee. Once the center becomes operational, the Committee will be replaced by a Board of Directors which the Committee will assist in establishing. The Union will designate one representative to serve on the Board of Directors. Union representatives on the Committee will be authorized official time in accordance with Article 30. Non-Union Committee members will be allowed necessary administrative time, consistent with the needs of the Agency, to participate in Committee activities.

  • Health Care Committee A Health Insurance Committee shall be established and maintained with at least three (3) representatives appointed by the Association and three (3) representatives appointed by the Superintendent. The purpose of the Committee shall be to make recommendations designed to optimize the quality of health care available to District employees and improve cost effectiveness of the health insurance program. Committee members shall review data, work with the District insurance consultant, collaborate on making recommendations for changes in plan design, review bids by insurance companies, and ultimately consider recommending plan changes to their respective constituencies. The Committee is not empowered to unilaterally make changes in health care benefits without ratification by the Association and approval by the Board. The creation of the Committee does not diminish or in any way reduce the Board’s and Association’s rights or responsibilities.

  • Local      Committee The Hospital agrees to recognize a negotiating committee comprised of hospital employee representatives of the Union for the purpose of negotiating a renewal agreement (as set out in the Local Provisions Appendix). The Hospital agrees to pay members of the negotiating committee for straight time wages lost from their regularly scheduled working hours spent in direct negotiations for a renewal agreement, up to but not including arbitration. Nothing in this provision is intended to preclude the Union negotiating committee from having the assistance of any representatives of the Canadian Union of Public Employees when negotiating with the Hospital.

  • Local Safety Committee There shall be established in each department and/or principal place of employment (for example: institutions, hospitals, colleges, transportation department areas, Department of Natural Resources regions, etc.) a joint Safety Committee composed of Appointing Authority representatives selected by the Appointing Authority and employee representatives selected by the Union, one from each bargaining unit represented by the Union but at a minimum, a total of two (2) representatives. If more than one (1) exclusive representative exists in the department or principal place of employment, the Union will attempt to work out an arrangement with the other exclusive bargaining representative(s) to insure their input to the Committee. The chair of the Committee shall be appointed by the Appointing Authority. The Appointing Authority may consider having co-chairs, one management and one labor. The Safety Committee shall meet at least quarterly or as may be legally required and meetings shall be scheduled by the Safety Officer. Additional meetings may be called by the Safety Officer or by the Local Union or Appointing Authority as the need may arise. All Safety Committee meetings shall be held during normal day shift working hours on the Appointing Authority's premises and without loss of pay. The function of the Safety Committee will be to review reports of property damage and personal injury accidents and alleged hazardous working conditions, to provide support for a strong safety program, to review building security issues, and to review and recommend safety policies to the Appointing Authority. Normally, the Committee shall acknowledge in writing receipt of reports of alleged hazardous working conditions within thirty (30) calendar days of their submission. A copy of the Committee's recommendations, if any, to the Appointing Authority regarding the disposition of such reports shall also be provided to the individual who filed the report with the Committee. In addition, the Safety Committee will provide the filing party with a copy of the Appointing Authority's response and/or proposed actions, if any. At the request of the Local Union or Safety Committee, hazard assessments will be made available for review. Each Local Safety Committee in a facility with a laundry and/or a kitchen shall perform a routine heat survey to check temperature, humidity, and exhaust and fan systems in the laundries and kitchens. The Employer agrees to coordinate technical assistance to the Local Safety Committee upon request.

  • Safety Committees Joint employee-elected and Employer appointed safety committees shall be formed in accord with WISHA requirements and following University of Washington policy. The Union is entitled to representation on the University-wide or specific organizational or divisional committees where bargaining unit employees are working. Any department or unit committee also dealing with health and safety issues in work areas shall appropriately involve bargaining unit employees. Participation in safety and health committees, including meeting time, health and safety research, work on committee assignments, seminars, and classes will be considered time worked for all employees in accordance with University policy. Release time must be arranged with supervisors in advance. When the committee makes a recommendation that requires action or approval beyond its scope of authority, the Employer will communicate its disposition of the formal written recommendation within thirty (30) days.

  • LABOR/MANAGEMENT COMMITTEES Section 1. Labor/Management Committees The parties recognize that the holding of periodic meetings for the exchange of views and information contributes to the effectiveness of the labor/management relationship. Therefore, the parties shall establish Labor/Management Committees (LMC), in accordance with the provisions in this Article, for the purpose of addressing matters of concern in the areas of personnel policies, practices, conditions of employment, and other matters affecting employees. Each LMC will be co-chaired by one member from labor and one member from management.

  • SCHOOL STAFF COMMITTEES 1. If the majority of the teaching staff in the school so decide, there shall be established a recognized staff committee in that school.

  • Joint Labor/Management Committees Purpose and Membership. Joint Labor/Management Committees are established to provide a forum for communications and problem-solving between the two parties and to deal with matters of a general personnel Union/Employer concern, as well as professional practices within the hospital related to patient care and professional issues. The Committees will work toward the improvement of patient care and recommend ways and means to improve patient care; and will address problems and concerns related to staffing and workloads. The Committees’ function will be limited to an advisory capacity and shall not include any decision making or collective bargaining authority. Committee memberships:

  • Grievance Committee The Hospital will recognize a Grievance Committee composed of the Chief Xxxxxxx and not more than (as set out in Local Provisions Appendix) employees selected by the Union who have completed their probationary period. A general representative of the Union may be present at any meeting of the Committee. The purpose of the Committee is to deal with complaints or grievances as set out in this Collective Agreement. The Union shall keep the Hospital notified in writing of the names of the members of the Grievance Committee appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. A Committee member shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent during their regular scheduled working hours in attending grievance meetings with the Hospital up to, but not including arbitration. The number of employees on the Grievance Committee shall be determined locally.

  • Medical Appointment for Pregnant Employees 35.9.1 Up to three decimal seven five (3.75) hours of reasonable time off with pay for each appointment will be granted to pregnant employees for the purpose of attending routine medical appointments.
