Where the Hospital Corporation does not participate in central bargaining, the purpose of the Negotiating Committee shall be to negotiate a renewal of this Collective Agreement. The Hospital Corporation agrees that the members of the Negotiating Negotia- ting Committee shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent during their regular scheduled working hours in attending such negotiating meetings with the Hospital Corporation up to, but not including, arbitration. It is the mutual desire of the parties hereto that complaints shall be adjusted as quickly as possible, and it is understood that joint meetings an employee has no grievance until he has first given his immediate supervisor the opportunity of adjusting his complaint. Such complaint shall be discussed with other Labour-Management Committees his immediate super- visor within five (5) days after the circumstances giving rise to it have occurred or ought reasonably to have come to the attention of the employee. Failing settlement within the five days, it shall then be taken up as a grievance within five days following his immediate supervisor's decision in the Hospital may be scheduled concerning issues of mutual interest if satisfactory to all concerned.
