Method of Taking Leave. (a) Either 28 consecutive days, or two separate periods of not less than seven consecutive days in all cases exclusive of any public holidays will be given and taken within six months from the date when the right to annual leave accrued. The employer and employee will seek to reach agreement on the taking of annual leave at a mutually convenient time(s). If not taken within six months from the date it accrued, either the employer or employee may give at least four weeks' notice of the dates when all, or part of the accrued leave will be taken. (b) Where an employee requests that leave be allowed in one continuous period such request will not be unreasonably refused. (c) Continuous shift workers will be entitled to 5 weeks of paid annual leave, in accordance with s.87(1)(b)(ii) of the Fair Work Xxx 0000 (Cth) (d) In the circumstances where a public holiday falls within one day of a weekend or another public holiday the provisions of 29.2(a) may be altered by agreement between the employer and a majority of employees affected under this Agreement to provide that a day of annual leave entitlement may be granted on the day between the said public holidays and/or weekend if an employee, or employer, requests it.
